"By seeing London, I have seen as much of life as the world can show." Samuel Johnson
Desired Stance
Upon our arrival to London’s turf, our biological cameras will automatically turn on as we submerse ourselves into a unfamiliar, yet inviting, blend of every walk of people; all coexisting in one extraordinary society. The city will tempt us with limitless experiences for entertainment, rain or shine. London will enliven and rouse us with its distinguishing, endless marvels. We’ll observe people herding like wild animals, furiously-spotted with their own unique blueprints, charging from black crosswalks to white crosswalks, blabbing away in their pallid, native languages, cautiously crossing the narrow, pinstriped streets, and like clockwork, we’ll be pulled in.
What will our overall reactions be to London? Life’s Camcorder: On. Browsing of treasures from Piccadilly to Berwick Street. Observing of The London Eye Observation Wheel whirling away in the distance, showing its riders the city’s 55 most breathtaking monuments. Smiling at the famous faces of Madame Tussaud’s wax celebrities come and gone. Wowing at The London Tower’s 900-year existence and impeccable, medieval conditions. Jumping into the past from artifact to artifact at The Victoria and Albert Museum and then to Trafalgar Square to re-live past centuries via famous works by Van Gogh and Da Vinci, or the future with live performances. Photographing the Grand Staircase at or skipping through the magnificent gardens of the luxurious, Buckingham Palace is truly a dream-come-true.
In London, our awe-stricken consciousness won’t stop filming every new vignette of our unforgettable stay, but rather crave more. We won’t leave our desires unsatisfied now, will we?
The city
Have you ever imagined yourself in an exceptional place, away from daily, mundane activities, where something important has transpired? London is the place to be! Why? We’ll have to consider that the city has endured almost every type of outrageous tragedy from the deadly, Black Plague to the unstoppable Blitz bombing by the Germans, to the three-day-long conflagration, which ripped through London’s streets, leaving uncountable amounts of destruction. Now, being fully reconstructed, we recommend packing your suitcase, breaking open you piggy bank, charging those camera batteries, and coming to blend in with the crowd to witness and live the past and the present! We promise it will be a life-shaping adventure! Relax and let London’s wonders perform the magic! It’s not called "The World´s Capital" for nothing!
"So how can you tell me you're lonely, and say for you that the sun don't shine? Let me take you by the hand and lead you through the streets of London. I'll show you something to make you change your mind." Ralph McTell
Piccadilly Street: A Circus of Art
Welcome to the Piccadilly Circus, one of the most famous junctions in London! Let the neon sign’s sparkling lights take you for a ride, and the immense video displays inform you about “wotcha” in the British-world today! In this neck of the woods, there are lots of world-renowned monuments and places to stop by for shopping and eating purposes, and all pretty easy on the pocketbook. Go for a stroll, take out the camera, and start shooting the next few photographical memories for your family album!
A Checklist
Fortnum and Mason: In its beginning, Fortnum and Mason was just an ordinary supermarket. However, later on in history, it became a “hotspot” for shopping! Come peruse its mouth-watering aisles filled with dreamy, swirled chocolate, top-name brand, succulent wine, and much more “eye candy” as you look deeper into the shelves. Don’t forget to take a hamper full of delectable treasures for you friends and family back home!
The Eros Statue: Take a five second break and let your camera go wild while you contemplate what Alfred Gilbert was thinking when he erected this controversial masterpiece! You’ll find it situated in the center of Piccadilly in all its glory. Gilbert believed it was an excellent representation of good things that had been done by the townspeople in the past. Interestingly enough, many believed that it represented Anteros, the God of Selfless Love, but that turned out to be hearsay. Let the locals know what YOU think!
The Royal Academy of Arts: Critique the revolutionizing art at one of the last Piccadilly Mansions standing in all of England! Originally, the RA was an old arts school. Now, it’s independent and run by famous designers and architects from around the world, each donating their interpretations of creativity to its rich interior. Be amazed by its breath-taking architecture and allow its leaders to impress you with their innovativeness!
Berwick Street
Must Dos and Must Knows:
Bring your hunger and thirst along with you to The Berwick Street Market! Crispy, ripe fruit and crunchy, fresh vegetables are sold right in the middle of the action comfortably sandwiched between Old Compton Street and Oxford!
It is known as one of the best markets in London because of its fanciful displays of garden-fresh products, and, everything is set at an affordable price!
Also, while you’re “snacking” down the street, you will encounter stands selling crumbly, moist cheese, freshly-caught fish, oven-baked bread, hand-picked herbs, acerbic spices and many other odds and ends for your house.
Add it to your agenda Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The London Eye
We promise your newfound outlook on England’s mighty city will be truly extraordinary when you let your eyes go on a once-in-a-lifetime holiday by witnessing the first ever 3D airborne sights of London on its soaring Ferris wheel, which includes nonstop views of 55 of the most-sought-out attractions in England! It will be an impacting experience because your five senses will trigger an internal awareness that you are really there right alongside the magical wonders of London!
Madame Tussaud’s Wax
Who do you want to meet? Finally. We’ve got you front-row seats! See them up-close and in-person without getting thrown out by their bodyguards! Meet 300 of the most famous people of our times! Have them say “cheese” for the camera, shake their hands, and tickle them, but NO SMOKING WILL BE TOLERATED. It would be life-threatening due to their "waxy" conditions. We can’t guarantee autographs, but we can assure a hands-on, red carpet experience. Also, don’t forget to say "hi" to all of your favorite superheroes, but in a 4D time warp!
The Tower of London
Sneak up on this furtive tower and listen to the somber secrets of its primeval stones! Gawk at its invaluable trinkets and observe the dark ravens as they keep watch over the ancient gardens. Even though the town’s purpose served as a place for human suffering and sometimes death, we know that the past is it past! The Tower of London possesses some of the most astonishing stories and legends from times come and gone! Skim the “gossip” left behind by past convicts from over five centuries ago! Also, take the opportunity to admire the enormous tower in its entirety and creep through an actual royal bedchamber!
Victoria and Albert Museum
Get blown away by The Victoria and Albert Museum and by its world-renowned, celebrity status as one of the best museums of creative design and diverse art on the planet! Inside, be prepared to walk along history’s famous timeline of art in all forms from the past 3,000 years! Be sure to investigate and explore the different collections from post-classical sculptures, to incredible holdings from the Italian Renaissance, to the Asian Collection of metalwork! This journey will allow you to brush up on your history and walk out an expert! It’s even free to get in!
Trafalgar Square
Forget about your schedule, dance your heart out and mingle with the crowds to find special events going on year-round by the famous, LED-light fountain in the square! Immerse yourself in its culture aspects, sing your lungs out at its outstanding musical performances, or just hang out with the local pigeons and soak up some sun at the fountain. Either way, you’ll have an ethnic blast!
Buckingham Palace
We strongly recommend visiting this royal turf, especially since there is now public access! Being a number one tourist attraction in London, housing a remarkable art gallery, and representing the British Monarch makes it a unique opportunity that you shouldn’t pass up! Take a tour of its luscious gardens and explore its never-ending, towering corridors. Don’t worry about getting lost because there are always tour guides there to help you find your way! Greet the Queen properly if you happen to see her!
